400 members of the music profession attended the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards Dinner at the Dorchester Hotel, London on 11 May 2005.Following a keynote address given by Jude Kelly OBE, conductor
Sir Andrew Davis presented the awards. The ceremony was hosted by Stephanie Hughes from BBC Radio 3.
Dame Janet Baker, one of the UK's most beloved musicians, also made an appearance when she presented Sir Charles Mackerras with the Royal Philharmonic Society’s highest honour, the Gold Medal.
