The Hallé
The revival of the Hallé under Mark Elder is one of the great success stories of British classical music. This example of orchestral regeneration has redefined the orchestra's future and stature in the north-west and across the UK under Elder's inspirational and communicative leadership, with strong management and committed musicians and staff. This is - in the words of one critic - "an organisation invigorated with purpose".
