The Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards, the highest recognition for live classical music-making in the UK, will be presented on Thursday 15 May 2008 at a dinner at the Dorchester Hotel, London. The Awards are in association with BBC Radio 3The Awards presentation will be hosted by BBC Radio 3's Petroc Trelawny and Sarah Mohr-Pietsch.
Richard Holloway, Chairman of Sistema Scotland, the project inspired by the extraordinary work being done with young people and youth orchestras and speakers in Venezuela, will be the evening's speaker.By growing orchestras in areas of deprivation, Sistema Scotland aims to transform children's lives with music, empower communities and build orchestras for the future.
