This award recognises the combined achievements of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Ensemble 10/10 in making an outstanding contribution to British musical life during Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture. The jury was impressed by the synergy created within a fruitful collaborative environment, the enthusiasm and vibrancy with which both groups embraced repertoire of remarkable stylistic diversity and their determined efforts to involve audiences at all levels.
