The jury felt that this was a year when four young conductors had particularly distinguished themselves through their commitment to music making in the UK - and the winner has certainly proved himself to be the right man in the right place at the right time. He has produced consistently high musical standards across a wide repertoire, and great nights at the opera! The Award goes to the Music Director of English National Opera, Edward Gardner.
